We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer (m/f/d) to join our Data Intelligence team and play a key role in modernizing and scaling our data platform across the company. You'll combine strong technical expertise with project leadership skills to coordinate cross-functional initiatives with stakeholders in Marketing, Product, and Portfolio. The role is based in Germany in a hybrid setup, reporting to our new Head of DevOps, IT, and Data Engineering.
The yearly salary range for this position is € 67.500 - € 91.300 (Senior).
Your role
Coordination and execution of cross-functional data projects with business and tech stakeholders, from scoping through delivery, ensuring measurable business impact
Ownership of the data platform's maintenance and evolution, including the rollout of a data catalog and the evaluation of dbt to replace legacy pipelines
Design and implementation of complex, cross-functional data architectures and sophisticated data models that enable self-service analytics and informed decision-making
Coaching and mentoring of junior and peer engineers, raising overall team capability and fostering shared standards across the Data Engineering team

Job requirements
Your profile
5+ years of hands-on data engineering experience, including stakeholder and project management in cross-functional environments
Expert-level SQL skills and proven experience with AWS, Redshift or a similar columnar analytics database, and workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow or Dagster
Fluent English required; conversational German is a plus
Your mindset

Curious and tool-savvy – You stay close to new developments in the data and AI space, and you're eager to explore tools like dbt, Langdock, or Langfuse to improve how the team works.
Structured collaborator – You translate complex technical topics into clear language for non-technical stakeholders and keep cross-functional projects on track through transparent communication and reliable follow-through.
