We’re looking for a QA Engineer (m/f/d) to join our cross-functional Photo Product team and strengthen the reliability and quality of our web applications. You ensure structured test coverage, meaningful automation, and clear quality insights that support informed decisions. This position is remote-first in Germany and you collaborate closely with our Product Managers, Developers, and Designers.

Your role

  • Ownership of the team’s quality strategy including early requirement involvement, refinement of acceptance criteria, continuous risk assessment, and a user-focused QA perspective

  • Structured design and maintenance of test coverage across evolving features through test design sessions, up-to-date test cases, and systematic regression planning

  • Execution of manual, exploratory, and regression testing across browsers, devices, and configurations with clear defect reproduction and transparent communication

  • Development and upkeep of E2E and API automation suites including test reliability, pipeline stability, and continuous improvements to quality gates

Tech-Stack

  • Test automation with Playwright and JavaScript/TypeScript-based tooling for critical flows, regression coverage, and API-level checks

  • Test case and test suite management with Testmo or comparable test management systems supporting structured and traceable QA processes

  • CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions to ensure reliable pipelines, stable quality gates, and fast feedback cycles

  • Debugging and investigative tooling including browser dev tools, network analysis, and Postman or similar API clients

Your benefits

  • We value flexibility: Flexible remote work, part-time options, modern hardware (Macbooks), collaborative office spaces (flex desks)

  • We embrace new work: Agile working, fair pay, competency- and leadership models

  • We care for your well-being: Nilo.health, workations, sabbaticals, 30 days paid vacation

  • We want to grow with you: Internal development, coaching, regular feedback- and growth processes, flexible external learning

  • We are one team: Office meals, (voluntary) events, remote team building, furry office friends and exclusive family & friends discounts

Job requirements

Your profile

  • +3 years of experience in manual and exploratory testing as well as working with modern automation frameworks in agile, cross-functional product teams

  • Strong ability to design structured test cases, interpret quality signals, analyse defects, and identify root causes across frontend and backend boundaries

  • Fluency in English; German or French is a plus

Your mindset

  • Structured – You break complex scenarios into clear test approaches, maintain reliable test suites, and keep quality signals transparent for the team.

  • Pragmatic – You balance risk and delivery by focusing on the tests and automation that provide the highest value at the right time.

  • Proactive – You challenge unclear assumptions early and surface quality insights that help the team make better product decisions.
